Mid to Late 1800s Photograph Album with Views of Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France and England. Hardcover Full embossed morocco decorated in gold on the sides and the spine, gilt edges, metal decorated clasps. The album includes forty-two photographs mounted on board with views of the Papal Blessing of the animals and S. Giovanni in Laterano in Rome, Pompei, Sorrento, Naples, Amalfi, Heidelberg, Schaffhausen, Zurich, Fribourg, Strasbourg, a portrait of Francis Joseph I, emperor of Austria, and others. There are two photos of, presumably, the owners of the album (Marie and Emma Saul, dated 1863). Some of the photos have handwritten notes in the back; one has a small scar, and some show light wear. Condition is very good+ with light wear to the extremities.
