Second edition after the one from 1600. [24], 392pp. Contemporary full marbled calf, spine with five raised bands and red leather label lettered in gold. Engraved title, head-pieces and initials. With the bookplate of Fletcher Battershall on the front pastedown endpaper. Spine ends and corners well worn, previous owner's name on front and rear pastedowns and front free endpaper, old repairs to hinges and verso of title, old dampstain partially affecting the lower edge, some scattered soiling and foxing to text block. The label on the spine appears recently done. This copy was bound without the portrait. "Cette traduction est la meilleure qu'on ait jamais faite de ce počte dans une langue quelconque."
