The edition for the United States was limited to 1000 numbered copies (this set is not numbered). Three quarter green calf over marbled boards, spines with raised bands, elaborate decorations in gilt with floral motifs, and brown calf labels lettered in gold, top edges gilt, marbled endpapers. The bindings are signed by Zaehnsdorf and were made for A.C. McClurg & Co. Illustrations by Richard Doyle, J. P. Atkinson, W. J. Webb, George Du Maurier, Frederick Walker, and others. A hint of foxing to fore edges and foxing to endpapers and blanks. Otherwise a bright, clean set in near fine condition. ; Octavo

Condition is near fine with light fading to spines; volume two has an envelope with a letter describing the work attached to rear pastedown endpaper. The slipcase is in fair condition with the top edge detached. Signed by John Austen on the limitation page. ; Quarto; Signed by Illustrator
